I remember listening to one of the first studio recording of Not Included. Deep was playing almost all of the instruments except for what some young proteges were playing (that's another story). It was a complete jam session. Years later after waiting for him to put it out, he pulls it off the shelf and decides to invite some new players to the playground. On board comes Wayne Cobham, and Osmar Cobo. Let the Vibe Begin! brotha.deep leads on percussion as the listener is invited to a red hot, hip-hop meets jazz fusion now referred to as Vibe!
Two time Grammy winner, Wayne Cobham has been in the industry for 35+ years. I know you've heard him...even if you don't know it. Wayne Cobham has toured the world playing trumpet with entertainers such as Ben E. King, Cameo, The Temptations, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Four Tops, Ray Charles, Billy Cobham, Taylor Dane, Loredana Berté, Lou Reed, and Kool and the Gang just to name a few. But it does not stop there, his studio credits include Michael Jackson, Pieces of a Dream, Nancy Wilson, Denise Williams, Najee, Patti Austin, and Billy Cobham. His production credits include Gwen McRae, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Dane, Billy Cobham, and Guy with Teddy Reilly. Definitely a nice player to add to the recess yard.
Ah yes! Music the international language, joining them from Spain comes, Osmar Cobo. This classically trained musician is a favorite go to for brotha deep. And who could blame him since Osmar has played at least 8 instruments in international orchestras and various jazz classic formats - Solo, Trio, & Sextet. This producer/songwriter has had his work range from TV spots to the stage. With styles covering various genres like, House, Dance, Urban, Classical, and Rock, it's easy to see why he's a favorite of deeps.
